This can be overwhelming at first but it's an excellent jumpstart and educating yourself now will only make you that much stronger when everything starts coming together. I recommend Startlogic or Ewisoft for beginners. You can register your own domain, get very affordable webhosting, and they have templates and step-by-step instructions on building your own FREE website with them. If you already have a webhost than Ewisoft can offer you an easy to use program for website building. You will probably view many sites on the internet offering a free website and products to sell. Most of them are going to try to sell you package for SEO and traffic for your free website. First, getting a free website through them might be true, but you're going to be a subdomain of theirs, and have to follow their rules. Also you will only get a percentage of the profits you normally get for your own products. And if these things don't apply, than its because they have you sign up with a webhost of their choosing, who probably costs double or triple what any other webhost service costs. Working at home is great, but you have to find your niche. It could be affiliate marketing or your own store, or a hometown homepage, to Forex and the stock market, or freelance writing or even survey takers. The best thing to do is a little bit of research first. Forex will give you a free 1-month practice account and tutorials, which I highly recommend to take advantage of before you commit to them. Their great, but it's not like your normal stock trading. And its educating and FREE! Surveys are also a good way to start if you like that sort of niche, but they do take time. Freelance writing is nice if you have a knack for it and you can find something writing about. I find that if I want to speak out about something and think about that particular subject, I actually impress myself sometimes. The internet has opened many opportunities for everyone and RESEARCH is the best way to start. Because the internet is also constantly changing too. Trial and Error is another approach. Through their Featured Listings you can run a campaign at a set price for a number of listings and not have to worry how many clicks you get. They will also help you select keywords.
But I believe the best way to promote products is to eventually get your own website. A blog is a great way to start because you can start with some content and add new posts as you go. Blogger is probably the best place to start if you are new to this. They have tutorials to help you start. It's also FREE! To join Blogger you'll have get a gmail account, also free! The best thing about a gmail account is you can get many other google accounts free. These accounts will help you with promoting your blog on the internet along with the ads you've posted on them. They have webmaster tools to make your site SEO acceptable.
Another alternative whether you want to promote your blog or your ads is to write an article in Ezine or Go Articles. Also completely free! Search engines such as Google will index your sites or ads quicker and give you higher rankings on their pages. You just need to update them at least on a weekly basis. The more you update your articles and bring attention to yourself the more attention you will get. Just don't get frustrated and give up. We all get frustrated now and then, the rewards will come to you eventually and then the sky is the limit if that's what you choose.
Another way to promote your products is with Social Media. Twitter and Facebook are the big ones. After you've written a post to your blog or an article you can talk about it at these places.
