Affiliate Marketing overview

The world-wide web has become an excellent tool to endless opportunities in stocks, marketing, and education just to name a few. From Forex to eBay to real estate there is an endless wealth of information. However, you should research what your looking for. Today I'm going to give an overview on affiliate or performance based marketing. This is an excellent way to start making money with very little startup costs. The main things you need are a PC with internet access or availability to one and a desire to succeed. Nothing happens overnight and you can go at your own pace. You don't need a website but if you have one its a headstart. And you choose the products you wish to promote through affiliate networks so you don't need your own.
Some of the better known affiliate networks are Clickbank, Commission Junction, and Linkshare. Check them out on the internet and the networks will tell you the opportunities available, give instruction on how to utilize their resources and make an income for yourself. If you don't make money than neither do they. Once you choose products to promote you will have to advertise them. Google Adwords is the most widely used program and they use PPC or pay-per-click. Yahoo and Msn.com also have similiar programs. If you do have your own website you can post your ads on there. If you would like to blog for traffic or to post your ads on than I suggest to check out Blogger to start. This will also educate yourself on getting traffic and websites of your own if you decide to later on. Blogger is also totally free.
Once you start promoting your products your sales and commissions will be tracked for you through your affiliate networks. You will set up an account with each them when you sign up. Make sure to take full advantage of their educational teachings which are also free. I will be posting again soon.
